The mill stream runs through the centre of the Mill House and the old water wheel is still in place (a restoration project just waiting to be done). Most of the rooms overlook the beautiful mill pond with views stretching out onto open fields.
This large family house has 5 bedrooms (all en-suite), a large dining hall, a spacious kitchen & breakfast and a lounge with a fireplace. The house has its full original features including a bread oven, old water pump and the workings of the old mill which have been lovingly restored.It is spread over 3 floors.
The gite, La Maison du Frere, with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom sleeps 2-4 people and is situated at the opposite end of the mill buildings near the orchard with cherry and walnut trees.
There is also a workshop that can be converted in a one bedroom apartment., together with a double height barn and stable, a double garage and a separate smaller barn.

Less than a mile away, the nearest village is Lhomme which boasts a bar/restaurant, a bakers, butchers, grocery shop and hairdressers. There is also a wine museum where you can get a introduction to our local wines.
A selection of restaurants, boutiques, and bars is to be found in La Chartre sur le Loir including the Hotel de France -less than 5 minutes away in the car.
The main Le Mans 24 hour race is usually the middle weekend of June and there is also a Classic Car Race every other year. We are just 35 minutes from the racetrack at Le Mans, so whether you are attending an event or visiting their superb motor museum we are very well placed.
A 35 minute drive in the opposite direction brings you to Tours on the banks of the Loire. Here you will find upmarket shopping areas, local and regional open markets and some stunning architecture.
The major Chateaux on the Loire are about an hour away by car
For the kids there are Zoos at La Fleche and also just north of Le Mans - Pescheray. Various activity parks are within an easy drive and they will love the beach on the lake at nearby Marcon, with it's water slide, onsite café (during peak summer season), picnic area and play equipment.
Fishing is another very popular activity in the area. Our Mill is on a Category 1 water (with native brown trout, rainbow trout and many other species) which can be fished between March and September, but you also have the Loir river 5 minutes away and lake fishing at both La Chartre and Marcon. We have put together a dedicated fishing break, where we can show you the best places to fish.
Other activities include: archery, sailing, horse-riding, golf, canoeing. There is a recently built indoor and outdoor swimming complex just 15 minutes away in Chateau du Loir and an outdoor pool at La Chartre sur le Loir.
