Three bedroom, 2 bathroom, detached stone Breton built cottage.
Our house: 6 St Vincent, Persquen 56160, Morbihan, Brittany.
Saint Vincent is an old Breton hamlet with a lovely church constructed in the 17th century. The hamlet has ten houses and lies in the beautiful Breton Countryside, 4kms from the small town of Inguinel, which has a Post Office, Bakery and small but excellent supermarket. 11kms takes you to Guemene sur Scorff. Less than 30 minutes from the lovely beaches of the south coast of Brittany. About 2 hours travelling by car to Ferry ports and airports.
Our house is a detached old Breton stone cottage consisting of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1 large lounge & separate kitchen area. In addition to the cottage there is a separate stone barn and a large stone garage. A garden of 2800m2 with a small river running through the middle of it. The house faces south west and has lovely sunsets from the front terrace.
The following rooms measurements, window configurations and photographs should give you a general feeling for the property. All the windows are double glazed.
The front stable door of the cottage leads you in to the Lounge which measures 7.25 in length by 4.50 in width with a beautiful Breton fireplace with a Villager wood/multi fuel stove. There is a large double French window that leads on to the front terrace. There is also a small rear window that overlooks the small back garden.
The kitchen is adjacent but separated by the stairs and a partition from the lounge, it measures 2.70 in width by 2.80 in length. The kitchen has a number of fitted kitchen units and contains a dishwasher, a washing machine and an electric cooker. It also has an exposed Breton Fridge.
There is a door from the living room that leads you into the downstairs double bedroom measuring 3.40 in width by 2.90 in length that has double French windows that face on to the front terrace.
There is an ensuite bathroom adjacent to the bedroom consisting of a full size corner bath with a shower above it, a vanity unit and a WC. There is a small recessed bay window overlooking the back garden. The bathroom measures 1.40 in width by 3.40 in length
From the lounge there is a staircase that takes you upstairs with a large picture window half way up the stairs that overlooks our back garden and the beautiful Thatched Manor House behind our cottage.
The upstairs landing leads to a double bedroom measuring 4.60 in length by 3.50. This room has a large window overlooking the driveway entrance and there is a small velux window facing the front garden.
Next door to the double bedroom is a bathroom measuring 1.70 in width by 2.15 in length. It consists of a shower, a WC and a sink unit with a front facing velux window
There is a smaller bedroom which measures 1.80 in width by 4.20 in length. This room currently contains two single beds but could contain a double bed. There is a large Velux window facing the front of the house overlooking our prairie land the other side of the river and facing the natural spring water well of St Vincent - who is the patron saint of wine.
In addition to the house there is a separate stone barn 3.90 wide by 5.00 in length The barn has a small door opening on to land adjacent to the back garden. The barn abuts the stone built garage which measures 3.90 wide by 5.70 in length with double doors, a side window and a side entrance door.
We have owned and loved the house for 20 years and are only selling the property privately because age and illness are creeping up on us.Front of house.jpeg
